  1. December 7th is an important day in history because it was the date of the Attack on Pearl Harbor. The Attack of Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike led by the Japenese Navy. The attack took place on the morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 Japenese time.) The attack of Pearl Harbor was planed by Japan. The Japenese planned to go over to Hawaii and bomb Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor was the spot that held all of the U.S.A.'s army ammunition which included aircafts, tanks and ships. The Japenese believed that the U.S. was a very powerful army so they decided that by bombing Pearl Harbor would basically take the U.S. out of the war so when they attacked the world the U.S. would be out of the picture. The base of the attack was led by about 353 Japenese fighters with bombers, torpedo planes and six large aircrafts. In the end all 8 of the U.S.'s ships were were damaged and 4 of the 8 were sunken. All but 2 of the 8 were eventually raised and repaired and were returned to service in the war. About 188 U.S. aircrafts were destroyed and about 2 402 Americans were killed. Overall December 7 is a historical day in history because it was the day that the Japenese attacked Pearl Harbor.

  10. December 7th is an important day in history because it was the date of the Attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike done by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States base. This took place at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7th. The attack was intended as a preventive action in order to keep the U.S. Pacific Fleet from interfering with military actions the Empire of Japan was planning. The base was attacked by 353 Japanese bombers, fighters and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from 6 aircraft carriers. All of the eight U.S. battleships were damaged. Four ships were sunk. All but two of the eight ships were raised, repaired and returned to service later in the war. The Japanese also damaged or sank , three destroyers, three cruisers, an anti-aircraft training ship and one minelayer. 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed. 2402 Americans were killed. 1282 Americans were wounded. 29 aircraft and five midget submarines lost. 65 servicemen killed or wounded. 1 Japanese sailor was captured. This led directly to the American entry into World War II. The following day the United States declared war on Japan. That is why I think December 7 is a historical day in history.

  15. December 7th is such an important day in history because it was the day that was known as "The Attack on Pearl Harbor". It was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 in Japan). The base was attacked by 353 Japanese fighters, bombers and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers. All eight U.S. Navy battleships were damaged, with four being sunk. All but two of the eight were raised, repaired and returned to service later in the war. The Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, an anti-aircraft training ship, and one minelayer. One hundred eighty-eight U.S. aircraft were destroyed; 2,402 Americans were killed and 1,282 wounded. The attack came as a profound shock to the American people and led directly to the American entry into World War II the very next day. This is why I believe that December 7th is a very important day in history, as it was the day of the Attack of Pearl Harbor.

  16. December 7th, 1941 was an important day in history because it was the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, U.S.A. Around 7:55 a.m., a wave of 183 Japanese bombers, fighters and torpedo planes flew over Pearl Harbor and attacked it. In this tragedy 2400 American soldiers were killed when Japan surprised with an aerial bombing attack. The attack was originally planned as a preventative of the American's interfering with any of Japan's plans with starting wars on different countries in World War 2. The Americans admitted that they were expecting the attack the day before so they were not prepared for Japan to bomb the harbor. Now, there is a memorial where the harbor was, to recognize this important day in history when many lives were lost. In the end, we all look upon this tragedy as Franklin D. Roosevelt did, “a date which will live in infamy.”

  17. This monument was so important because on December 7th 1941 It was sadly sunk. The ship was hit by a devastating bomb during an attack on the Pearl Harbor whitch was by the Japaneses Navel Forces. The Uss Arizona memorial whitch was happily built on the battle ship Uss Arizona was kindly in memory of all the men who died on that horrible day. Bailey gr.6

  20. December 7th is important because it was the day that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. The Japanese used two different attack strategies. The Japanese attacked in two waves of fighter and bomber planes and one wave of submarines. The US who were unused in radar and thought the Japanese were a flock of passing birds.

  21. On one of the most scary days in American history 1100 sailors died. It was in Hawaii December 7th, 1941 when the American sailors got slaughtered by the Japanese. The Americans knew two days ahead that the Japanese were going to attack. Even though the Americans had the better weapons they weren't ready for it. When the U.S.S Arizona warship got sunk half a million gallons of oil leaked out of it. On 2003 the same amount of oil leaked out of the ship.

  22. Dec/7/1914, is such a inportant day in history because this is the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour. The Japanese sent 353 fighterrs, bombers and torpedo planes. I think this is the reason the U.S.A. enterd World War 2.

  23. December was a important day because the USS Arizona Memorial, located at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii, marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors killed on the USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 by Japanese imperial forces and commemorates the events of that day.

  24. December 7 is such an important date in history because the USS Arizona Memorial. In Pearl Harbor is the very spot where 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors saadly lost there lives on the USS Arizona while the attac was going on in Pearl Harbor. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese sent out 353 fighters, bombers and torpido planes. This is most likely why the U.S.A. enterd WWI in my opinion. I found it surprising that the Amaricans knew that the Japanese where going to attack two days ahed of time but thay where still not ready for it. They did not even have enough weapons to fight back. This is why I thik that December 7 is such a memorable day in history.
