  3. Crystal Caves are gorgeous and magnificent locations that vary around our lovely earth. The caves include hundreds and thousands of shiny, sparkly and large crystals. The beautiful crystals are just as soft as a human fingernail and some crystals found in the caves are almost 500 00 years old! The crystals may be soft but they are commonly made from one of the same minerals used in drywall which is called gypsum. Even though the caves are made from crystals they are actually very hot. The cave's deadly heat comes from the depths of the Earth. A magma chamber a mile and a half down warms the water that flows throughout the mountain. The caves also produce water and some of them produce 16 000 gallons of water per minute 24/7. The water pumped from the crystal cave called Naica even formed a lake in the arid Chihuahua dessert. Overall I think that the crystal caves are beautiful, fantastic and shiny gorgeous land marks that lie beyond our earth and have really made a difference to our world.

  4. I personally think the cave of crystals is epic in every way, but since it's approximately 58C and people can only endure approximately 10 min it wouldn't be that fun, finally it's about 300M or (980)FT below ground.

  5. Crystal Caves have crystals of all different kinds. Selenite crystals are a type of crystal found in the caves and are some of the largest natural crystals ever found. Without proper protection people can only endure approximately 10 minutes of exposure at a time in the caves. The caves are extremely hot with air temperatures reaching up to 58*C. A Crystal Cave in Mexico called Cave of the Crystals or Giant Crystal Cave is connected to the Naica mine. This cave's largest crystal found to date is 11m in length and 55 tons in weight. That's pretty big! Naica lies on an ancient fault and there is an underground magma chamber below the cave. The magma heated the ground water and it became saturated with minerals, including large quantities of gypsum. The hollow space of the cave was filled with this mineral rich hot water and remained filled for about 500 000 years. During this time, the temperature of the water remained very stable at over 50 °C. This allowed crystals to form and grow to amazing sizes. I think that Crystal Caves are extraordinary places that would be mind blowing to see. They have made the earth even more beautiful than it already is.

  6. Have you ever seen a cave just filled with crystals. Well, the Naica crystal cave is a cave with just crystals. Thats amazing. This weeks “Where in the World” is the Naica crystal cave ( Well, one of them). Naica is one of the most productive lead mines in the world , and a huge supplier of the world’s silver as well. Something really cool is that the giant crystals found in the cave at Naica are softer than the human fingernail. The largest crystal is found at Naica is 500,000 years old! The stunning crystal pillars are made from the same common mineral as drywalln - it is called gypsum. The Naica cave’s deadly heat comes from the depths of the Earth. Naica sits on a set of fault lines. A magma chamber a mile and a half down warms the water that flows throughout the mountain. This is one of the many crystal cave’s found all over the world. I think the crystal caves are a beautiful thing that have changed the Earth in many ways.

  7. One of the most breath taking crystal caves are located in Mexcio. The latitude and longitude is 23 degrees north and 102 degrees west. Believe it or not the crystals are acually softer then a human finger nail. One of the largest crystals in Naica is about 500,000 years old thats a pretty long time if you think about it. The beautiful crystals are made out of a material called gypsum this is also the same material that they use for drywall. The facility of the Naica crystals pump 16,000 gallons of water per minute! THATS ALOT OF WATER!!! Naicas crystals also supply tons of the worlds silver. The crystal caves are very fasinating and I think that they would be a great thing to discover. Bailey Gr.6

  8. The Crystal Cave of Giants was accidentally discovered in 2000 by miners in Naica, Mexico. It is almost 300 meters or 900 feet below the Earth’s Surface. Some of the larger crystals are over 11 meters of 36 feet long and weigh around 55 tons. The crystals themselves are made of selenite which is crystallized gypsum. These crystals were form over a span of about half a million in a hot water solution, saturated with minerals. The temperature inside the cave remained consistently hot for the time the crystals were growing. It is still very hot and dangerous to the human body. A lot say it is as dangerous as it is beautiful.

I think the crystal cave is just breathtaking and magnificent. This weeks where in the world is cueve de los Cristales or Naico mine.Fun facts the crytals there are somewhat softer than a human fingernail, the main chamber contains giant selenite crystals(gypsom) some of the largest crystals ever found and there is an underground magma chamber below the cave (cool!) thats why the crystals there grow so big because the hollow space of the cave was filled with this mineral rich hot water and remained for about 500,000 years.During this time the water remained at about 50 Degrees Celcius.Thats why those crystals got so and still growing so big.The sad part is the crsytal cave is relatively unexplored due to extremely hot air temperatures reaching up to 58 degrees celcius with 90 to 99 percent humidity.Without proper protection humans can only endure up to ten minutes in there. The crystal caves are just (one word) AMAZING !!!!!!...... I would luv to go there some day (with proper protection ofcoures XD)

  10. This weeks "Where in the World takes place in the Naica Mine of Chihuahua, Mexico in the Cave of Crystals or it is also called the Giant Crystal Cave. It was discovered in 2000 by miners trying to dig up a new tunnel. It is horseshoe-shaped in limestone rock. The cave is covered bottom to top with the most magnificent crystals imaginable. Huge crystal beams come shoot straight out from the floor. The Cave of Crystals is approximately 1000 feet or 1000m below the surface in the limestone mine. The chamber contains giant selenite crystals. Some of the crystals in the cave are the largest natural crystals ever found. The selenite crystals were formed by fluids spreading out from the magma chambers below. The magma heated the ground water and it became with the most minerals it posibliby could hold, including large amounts of gypsum which is a A soft white or gray mineral that is used for dry wall . The empty space of the cave was filled with mineral rich water which was very hot and remained filled for about 500000 years. The temperature of the water remained over 50°C during this time. This allowed crystals to grow and form to extreemly large sizes. The caves produce water from the facility of Naica's crystals. Some produce 16000 gallons per minute. This allowed crystals to form and grow to extreemly large sizes. It has very hot air tempetures reaching up to 58°C. The cave is accessible today but you could only endure approximately 10 minutes without the proper equiptment on. Most crystals are transparent, shiny and delecate. I personally think that this crystal cave is extreemly fasinating, amazing, beautiful and sparkly. They have made a difference in the world and is a really interesting land mark I would be amazed to see up close in real life.

  11. The man in who was in the crystal cave thought it was amazing I thought it was too. He traveled all around the world to all different kinds of crystal caves but he thought that the Naica was the was better then anyother crystal cave. When he look through the a crystal he could almost see right through he said that they look roses just coming straight up from the gound. The Naica in Mexico has the largest crystals in the world acording to mine officals. Naica is a lead, zincand silver mine in which large voids havebeen found, containing crystals of selenite(gypsum) as large as 4 feet in diameter and 50 feet long.

  13. The mine is active and is located in Naica,Mexico. Naica is a lead zinc, silver mine in which large voids have been found. The chamber holding the crystals are also known as the Crystal cave of giants that is 1000 feet down in the limestone host rock of the mine it selfand in the video there was a smoth cylinder shape of crystal that looked awesome. The Naica mine was first found in 1794. So overall the mine of naica is pretty epic I would love to travel there one day.

  14. I personally think that these caves are by far one of the coolest where in the worlds we have ever done. This particular crystal cave is located in the Naica mine in Mexico is filled with huge crystals called selenite which is also known as gypsum and is also used in drywall. These crystals can come in monstrous sizes, the largest ever found was 11 meters long and weighed about fifty tons! Thats huge! However people cannot stay in there very long. The average temperature can reach up to 58 degrees which is a temperature humans can only endure for about 10 minutes. Sadly some of this cave remains unexplored due to the temperature which I find to bad I mean who knows what else might be down there I mean his place could be so much bigger than we think there may even be some sort of little organisms down there! Well as you can see I think this cave is amazing beautiful and a great place I want to see up close.

  15. This weeks where in the world takes place in cyrstal caves. These caves are the most amazing beautiful things in the world. The cave in the video was from Nacia Mexico and was discoverd in the year 2000.This cave is about 300 metres below the earth's surfice and is one of the biggest caves in the world. The temperature in the cave is 58 degress at a time so for humans it is not safe to go down there. You could maybe go down for only 10 minutes.Fun fact the cave the biggist cystal found was 11 metres long and weighed 50 tones and also took a while to bring cystal from the cave. The cave is also filled with selenite also nown as gymsum.Another thing to add inside the cave where the space is there is whole bunch of the cleanist mineral water and has been flowing for about 5000 years!Over all the cave is wounderful and I hope I can see what amazing cystals for myself some day.

  16. This weeks where in the world takes place in the crystal caves in Naica, Mexico. Inside these caves you will find some of the biggest, and most beautiful crystals ever found. But getting into the caves to see the crystals can be very dangerous. This is because the temperatures inside the caves can be 50 degrees and the humidity 100%. This makes it hard to breath without out an oxygen mask and a cooling suit. The cave was first discovered by accident when miners at the Naica silver mine broke through the walls of the cavern by accident. In the article I found on the crystal caves there were no pictures.I wish that I could have seen some photos of the crystals.

  17. Sitting in Chihuahua, Mexico lays one of the Earth's extraordinary wonders, The Naica Mine of Chihuahua. The Naica Mine of Chihuahua is also called the Crystal Cave of Giants because it holds many amazing gypsum crystals that can be up to thirty-six feet long and three feet wide. The crystals are formed by hydrothermal fluids from the magma below in the chambers. Although the crystals in the cave are magnificent, they are also the slowest growing crystals ever, probably because of conditions in the mine. The mine was discovered in 1794 by early prospectors who struck silver at a range of hills called Naica. After this, the mine became very popular but in 1911 some bad things happened. During the Mexican Revolution, revolutionary troops demanded money from the Naica Mine owners. But when one got killed when he refused to pay, the mine got shut down for 11 years. Now the mine is still working and is back in good shape but to be in there is very dangerous. If you are inside the Naica Mine, there is a lot of heat which can cause some dangerous emotions and also hallucinations, which means that one can only stay in there for so long. I think that the Naica Mine is an amazing place. It has so many unbelievably huge crystals that blow your mind away. The Crystal Cave holds so many things that always catch the human eye and I wonder what other amazing discoveries we might be able to make on this magnificent place.

  18. Crystal cave is so amazing because the biggest crystals are more than 12m long and 0.60m thick! The men who discovered the cave were brothers (Eloy and Javier Delgado)that is why i think this place is amazing.

  19. In Nacia Saucillo Municipality Chihuahua Mexico is the Cristal Cave. The depth of this monument is 300 m the length is 27 m the geology is limestone and it was discovered in 2000. This latitude and longitude is 23*N/120*W. Believe it or not this beautiful monument actually only has one hazard. The hazard is that it can reach temperatures from 45*C to 50*C and the humanity is 100%. Did you happen to know that the sparkling crystals are softer tab the average human fingernail. Also the largest crystal is 500000 years old. Nacia is actually one of the most productive lead mines in that world! Nacia pumps over 16000 gallons of water per minute 24/7. The water is also used to irate a golf course. The material used in the crystal is actually the same as drywall this material is called gypsum. I think that this was an exigent choose for this weeks where in the world.

  20. This weeks where in the world is the Crlstal Caves. The Crlstal caves are so beautiful. The mine was discoverd in 1794. The crystals are formed by hdyrothermal fleids from the magma below the cambers. getting into the crystal caves can be very dangerous. The largest crystal is 500000 years old! Thats really old! Did you know that the crystals are softer then a human fingernail. I think that this where in the world was very interesting.

  21. This weeks where in the world is about crystal caves. The beauty of the crystal caves attracts many turoists from around the world. Crystal caves are located all over the world some of these locations are Carelane, Springfeild and the united states.the caves are coverd wall to wall of amazing cristals.Despite the wondreful beauty they can be very dangerous. One day I woud like to visit a cristal cave witness the wounders of the world.

  22. I think that it is amazing that this cave was just discovered. But what amazes me even more is that it has pillars of Crystal. Those crystals are the biggest I have ever seen compared to a small ruby or something. This man who was talking said that he has traveled across the world in search of caves like these. Though he said that this was the most unique one of all of them. I think this cave is to amazing to be destroyed by anything.
