  18. Christmas iland.Christmas iland territory is in Australia in the indian ocean. It is located 2,600 kilometres (1,600 mi) northwest of the Western Australian city of Perth, 360 km (220 mi) south of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, and 975 km (606 mi) ENE of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. It has a population of 1,403 residents who live in a number of "settlement areas" on the northern tip of the island: Flying Fish Cove (also known as Kampong), Silver City, Poon Saan, and Drumsite. The island’s geographic isolation and history of minimal human disturbance has led to a high level of endemism among its flora and fauna, which is of significant interest to scientists and naturalists.[2] 63% of its 135 square kilometres (52 sq mi) is an Australian national park. There exist large areas of primary monsoonal forest.

  20. This week’s Where in the World is the Post Office in Christmas Island. It is located in the town of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada with a latitude and longitude of 45* North and 60* West. The post office is run by Hughena MacKinnon who every Christmas receives tons of mail for a special reason. These letters are sent here before their real destination to get an amazing Christmas Postmark. The tradition has been going on since the 1990's and people love it so much that they even hang these postmarks on their Christmas trees! The unique postmark is wanted so much that almost 2000 letters come into the office a day. It started when Mrs. MacKinnon's predecessor, Margaret Macneil petitioned for a more fun marking, and in 1994 she got permission to make the first pictorial postmark. I think that what the Post Office is doing is great because it spreads lots of Christmas cheer to everyone during the holidays. In conclusion, this week’s Where in the World is a really interesting place and what they do with their mail is fun and magnificent.

  21. This week’s Where in the World is the post office located on Christmas Island. The exact location of the monument is Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada and has a latitude and longitude of 45*N and 60*W. The reason this post office is very special is because it is a unique Christmas post office. This post office rarely receives mail but when the holiday season rolls around they get up to almost 2000 pieces of mail each day. The reason for this is because this tiny one room post office is the only post office that offers a beautiful Christmas post stamp. People from all over the world send their mail to this location just for that one tiny stamp. People adore receiving the special post stamp and some even keep them and hang them on their trees. The Christmas Island post office is doing a great thing by spreading Christmas cheer throughout the world with their tiny but fantastic little stamps!
